In 1992, Huwei was featured prominently in a 1 minute and 58 second segment of CCTV's "News Broadcast," recognizing and highlighting the company's emphasis on product quality. In 1998, the company was invited to give a presentation at a symposium on "Wholeheartedly Relying on Employees to Run State-Owned Enterprises Well," held in Wenzhou by the Central Policy Research Office, the State Council Policy Research Office, and the All-China Federation of Trade Unions. This presentation received high attention and a strong response from relevant central leaders and participating representatives, playing a positive role in promoting Party building work in state-owned enterprises.

The company underwent restructuring in 2001 and changed its name to Zhengzhou Huwei Refractory Materials Co., Ltd.

The company celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2008.

The company successfully restructured and listed with Puyang Refractories Group Co., Ltd. in 2013, and changed its name to Zhengzhou Huwei Refractory Materials Co., Ltd.

The company celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2018.
