Industry ChallengesNon-ferrous metal smelting furnaces (such as IsaSmelt furnaces, flash furnaces, anode furnaces, and zinc fuming kilns) operate under extremely complex conditions characterized by the scouring action of high-temperature melts, chemical corrosion from diverse constituents, and frequent temperature fluctuations. The reaction zone of zinc fuming kilns is particularly demanding; conventional refractory materials typically have a service life of only 6 to 8 months, and frequent shutdowns for maintenance severely impact production efficiency.
Huawei Refractories are widely used in non-ferrous smelting furnaces for copper, lead, and zinc—including flash furnaces, IsaSmelt furnaces, Ausmelt furnaces, side-blown furnaces, anode furnaces, converters, and zinc fuming kilns. We provide comprehensive services for non-ferrous smelting furnaces, covering the design, supply, installation, and maintenance of long-life, energy-efficient, and eco-friendly refractory materials.
For critical zones in equipment such as IsaSmelt, anode, and flash furnaces, we supply fused-rebonded magnesia-chrome bricks; for zinc powder electric furnaces and side-blown furnaces, we provide chrome-corundum bricks and alumina-chrome spinel bricks. We also offer precast component solutions for copper launders.

Zinc volatilization kiln
The proprietary special magnesium-aluminum-chromium composite spinel bricks developed by Huawei have been utilized in the reaction zones of large-scale zinc-fuming kilns at companies such as Yuguang Zinc Industry, Nanfang Nonferrous, Luoping Zinc & Electricity, Sihuan Zinc & Germanium, Zijin Mining, and Shaanxi Zinc Industry. These bricks consistently achieved service lives exceeding one year, setting a new record of 798 days.

ISA furnace / Flash furnace / Anode furnace
Fused-rebonded magnesia-chrome bricks have been applied in equipment such as Isa furnaces, flash furnaces, anode furnaces, and copper converters at major domestic and international non-ferrous smelting enterprises—including Yunnan Chihong Zinc & Germanium, Nanfang Nonferrous, Tongling Nonferrous, and Codelco—achieving a service life of over 28 months in Isa furnaces.
